AFTER-SCHOOL ART PROGRAMS at your school!
ART CAMP invites students to join our Fun, Creative After-School Art Classes AT YOUR CAMPUS, where each child enjoys a unique experience. Students explore a wide array of tantalizing ART Media including DRAWING, CARTOONING, PAINTING & SCULPTURE! We integrate STEAM to promote Higher Order Thinking in all our artistic endeavors.
Art Camp offers highly acclaimed, dynamic, interactive, and age-appropriate art instruction for children ages 2-14. Kids Art Classes are typically grouped as follows: 2-4yrs, 5-9yrs, and 10yrs+. Summer Art Camps are for children ages 6-14. During the course of our art programs, students explore an exciting selection of media and techniques including, but not limited to those listed below. As they progress through art classes and camps, the children will continue to build upon skills, knowledge and techniques learned, while mastering the basic Elements and Principles of art.
Our innovative art school assimilates academic, monthly, and seasonal themes into our curriculum as a wonderful tool for inspiring the creative thought process. Subject matter is flexible and we encourage the students to explore topics with liberal creative freedom!
CARTOONING
Cartooning is a wonderfully creative way to incorporate drawing techniques in our art classes. The children learn about famous cartoonists and styles from Disney to Manga! Students have lots of fun with this art program, as they learn to create their own original cartoon characters once they have mastered some of our all-time favorites! Who's your favorite cartoon character?
DRAWING I
Students learn to draw using Fuzzy’s Four Feet™, a four-step instructional tool developed by Founder, Natascha Gotesky. This method of drawing has been used and adapted successfully in our art program for over 20 years! Children love these art classes and are amazed at what they can draw just by using letters, numbers and basic shapes!
DRAWING II
As students progress in their art classes, they acquire greater knowledge and learn to enhance their drawing and observation skills. This art program component incorporates how to draw and sketch from observation, learning about concepts like composition, perception, values, shading, hues, etc. We draw inspiration from drawings, photographs, magazines, still life and the living world around us!
PAINTING
Art Camp's art classes employ both conventional and unique painting methods, media and tools to create fascinating works of art! Students learn how to use watercolors, acrylics and oils as they progress in their classes. During the course of our art program, we study color theory, creating interactive paintings and original masterpieces on stretched canvas, canvas panels, paper, fabric, ceramics, wood, and other creative surfaces. Students have fun with Squiggles and Giggles™, a fun process of exploring a variety of painting media. The process is fun, exciting and messy for all ages!!
SCULPTURE
Our art program embraces sculpture as a crucial component of our art classes, as it provides many benefits to learning and creating. Students learn basic to advanced sculpting techniques to create 3-Dimensional objects using a variety of durable modeling materials. There are many types of clay and modeling compounds to use, and we even make our own! The children display their creations in various ways. Our sculpture program provides additional benefits such as helping to strengthen fine motor muscles and promoting Right and Left Brain simultaneous engagement.
FAMOUS ARTISTS
Students explore artists from around the world, famous cartoonists, masters such as Van Gogh, Monet, Matisse and their “isms” (Impressionism, Expressionism, etc.). We also learn about several Contemporary and Modern Artists such as Mondrian, Kinkade, Britto, Gockel, Miro, Harrison, and many others! It’s always fun learning about and experimenting with artists’ techniques. It is incredible to see how students retain so much information from this innovative art program!
ART HISTORY
Our art program incorporates interesting art facts and tidbits of art history. The lessons these art classes teach are invaluable! Why don't we discard our disliked pieces? Can mistakes become valuable inventions? What can we learn from those who have created and innovated before us? Students enjoy creating while inadvertently learning!
ART APPRECIATION
Students learn to evaluate and appreciate art. They experience the importance of art as a means of self-expression. Our art program focuses on Process vs. Product. Yes, the end result is a creative product, but the process is most important in promoting self-confidence, building artistic skills and enhancing problem-solving strategies. During art classes, students work independently, but also learn to work in a group setting, communicating with their peers about artwork, sharing feelings and opinions.
ART EXHIBITS
Art Camp offers ART EXHIBITS and an ONLINE ART GALLERY. These are wonderful opportunities for students to display their artwork for friends and family to enjoy! After each semester of art classes, parents are able to order a variety of personalized items displaying their child’s original artwork! For more information about personalized products and prices, please contact us. What a wonderful way for our art school to showcase young and emerging artists!
